Do you have your (National Parks) passport?
I love my passport. Not only does it allow me to travel out of the country to see amazing cities and countries, but it’s a souvenir in itself. Every stamp shows where I’ve been. The Greek visa reminds me of my study abroad time. I can tell you why each stamp is there and what I did while I was there.
Unfortunately, traveling in the US didn’t have something similar. I could take a lot of photos, but I didn’t have a single book of places I’ve been in the US (which is just as big as traveling through Europe – with some places just as different than home too). I didn’t have anything, until now!
The friends we met up with at Gettysburg showed me their National Parks Passports and I was hooked. At the majority of National Parks, you can get a cancellation stamp, just like when traveling across the border.
The book is set up by regions. Looking through the book made me wish I had this when I was younger and had traveled out to Yellowstone. But now I just need to visit again 🙂
The regions break down and point out each site. There are sites I didn’t even know about! This gives me other weekend trip ideas. There are a lot of other sites around my area that I now have to visit. It now feels like a goal to get stamps from all the sites!
I would definitely recommend this to those who like to travel. Or those with kids. I always like having something to look back on from my travels, and another “passport” lets me do just that.

Got to get one of those National Parks Passport
I had one of those National Parks passports as a kid–and I absolutely loved it. My mother {who is an elementary school teacher} took me to all the major civil war battlefields, so I got quite a few stamps. Even now, I think about that passport when I travel to a new national park. Maybe I need to dig it up!
As an aside, I grew up an hour from Bloomington and spent my first 18 years in Southern Indiana. I moved to DC for school and stayed after I finished to work for a couple years. My husband’s job relocated us to Rhode Island, but DC and Indiana have a HUGE place in my heart 🙂 so happy to see someone else take the journey from Indiana to my favorite city! xoxo {av} | {long distance loving}

you’re so sweet! DC is going to be such a wonderful adventure for you 🙂 since I’ve been away for a couple of years, some of my food choices may be a bit ‘stale’ but I’ll try! You must go to Pizzeria Paradiso {any of their locales}, Proof {in Chinatown}, and–random–Hard Times Cafe {in Clarendon or Alexandria}. I love a lot of other little places too, but those are some quick go-tos. I’ll keep thinking on it 😉 xoxo {av}
